Morning report C/308M for January 11, 1945

Station: Verleumont, Belgium, vP6387
Record of events: On 10 Jan 45 at about 1400 the 3d Bn of 331 Inf was counter-attacked very savagely and in order to get sufficient med support to this Bn this Co sent one extra amb and 6 litter bearers to 3d Bn Aid Station. Casualties were very heavy and during the evacuation of the wounded the Germans kept up a heavy MG fire over the evacuation route. One man acting as litter bearer from this Co (Pfc Lakeman) was killed by a direct burst of MG fire, near Ottre, Belgium. Six ambs are now being used in the forward evacuation of the patients and 6 litter bearers are being used by the 3d Bn Aid Station to carry the wounded from the line Companies.
