Record of events:
At 0900 18 Jan 45 the 1st Bn of 331 Inf jumped off in a final attack against German positions for control of a section of a vital road. The attack went according to plan, however Pvt Shaffer of this Co, who was serving as Co Aid Man for Co B of 331 Inf was killed in the attack, about 1600 near Halconreux, Belgium. The entire Regt is now dug in and has consolidated its gains of yesterday. The following are being used as Co Aid Men: Tec5 Rumeicki, Pfc Hicks, Pfc Brewster and Pvt Verga.
