Morning report E/330 for August 9, 1944

Station: Saint-Malo, France1
Record of events: 0500 suffered 1 hour enemy artillery fire. Five casualties. Co commander proceeded to Bn CP for attack order. Forty-five minutes later, a German Major approached Co Cp and said he wanted to surrender his command (his excuse, because of such a large number of casualties and shortage of ammunition. Co Commander and Bn Commander returned to Co CP immediately. The German Major surrendered to Lt. Col. Norris (Bn Commander) with approximately 375 prisoners. Company lined up prisoners and they were marched back by 3rd platoon. co advanced in support of 2nd Bn.
