Record of events: At the outskirts of Langenstein, Germany, Capt Moore went ahead on a reconnaisance. The entire party was ambushed and suffered heavy casualties including Capt Moore who was shot in the stomach. One EM was captured by the enemy, but later released by Co 'C'. The Co passed through Langenstein and advanced to Borneche Haiz where they ran into heavy mortar fire and sustained more casualties. Total casualties 5 KIA, 22 wounded.
