Station: Heyd, Belgium, vP4596
Record of events: Continue billet here. Manned a road block at junction of roads SW of town, stopping all personell and vehicles for positive identification. Orienting the new repl and conducting some review training for them in their squad postions. Continue care and cleaning of equipment and of personnel. Repaired our captured truck.Visitied by Col. Walthauer, Regtl CO, in Col. Yorks' absence. He ate with us, inspected kitchen and weapons. Commented very highly on food and kitchen and on clean appearing men. Have an assistant helping on writing up the awards. We hope to get some for many of our men who have earned them many times, but have not asyet had them approved. Col. York was in area day before yesterday. He is recovering from wounds and hopes to be back with us in a couple more weeks. He was hitwhile our Company was entering Kufferath, Germany. Col York commended our Company personally for its work and outstanding successes in taking Hill 6 and Hill 5and Objective E there in Germany.
