Record of events: Company encountered stiff opposition from the moment of by-passing Co. F objective at 1700 12 Jan 45. SE of Bihain, Belgium and were held up by 2 tanks and automatic weapons. At 0700 13 Jan 45 Company again resumed the attack meeting very stiff resistance. At 1400 the Germans launched a counter-attack thru Company's position with 5 tanks and approximately 1 company of Infantry. Attacked was repulsed at 1700. Company was relieved by 3rd Armd and Company entrucked for new area in vicinity of Bn rear CP. Very cold and clear. Sure in need of rest and heat after steady 5-day commitment.
