| Pvt. William J. Gould was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity (California Epsilon '43) and was featured in the fraternity's quarterly magazine, The Shield. The picture of William and the following text are from that magazine.
Gould had been a prep-medic at UCLA before leaving for military service in January of 1944. He enlisted June 29th, 1942 and was called to active duty on January 10th. After reporting to Ft. Meade, MD., he got his overseas assignment. He would be headed to England and then to France.
