| The following information was sent to me by Florent Plana. Private Walter Garside became buddies with Francis B Hovey during their training as replacements. On July 19, 1944, the two buddies were split as Francis Hovey joined L Company, 329th Infantry Regiment and Walter Garside was attached to E Company, 329th Regiment as can be seen in the E Company morning report on page 77 here.
