Erwin Derhaag pointed me towards a newspaper article of the The Plain Speaker (Hazleton, Pennsylvania), October 26, 1944, page 20 which reads:

Sergeant David A. Rohrbach, 25, former Freeland and Hazleton resident, was killed in action on September 27th, in Luxembourg, the War Department has notified his wife, who resides at 737 Alter street, this city. His wife before marriage was Miss Louise Greco, daughter of Anthony and the later Mrs. Greco of the above address. Sergeant Rohrbach was in the 83rd Infantry Division and landed in England in June of this year, going to France one week later. He entered the Army on April 17th, from New York City, where he had been employed by a building contractor. He trained at Camp Blandin, Florida, Fort Eustis, VIrginia and California, before going to Fort Meade, Md, and overseas. He was born in Freeland and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin `Gus' Rohrbach, of 458 South Washington street, that town. He attended Freeland high school. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a two-year-old son, David Jr., and a brother and sister; Mrs. Ruth Kara, of New York City, and Kenneth Rohrbach of Freeland.
