| Private Reppert was a member of G Company. The morning report for August 31, 1944 on page 47 lists him joining the unit from the 48th Replacement Battalion. Erwin Derhaag pointed me towards a newspaper article in the Elmira Star-Gazette of November 24, 1944 about Private Reppert. It reads: Pvt. Warren W Reppert, 27, has been reported killed in action in Luxembourg Nov. 1. His wife, the former Mary Kozak, and their 14-month-old son, Dennis, live on the Ridge Rd., Horseheads. Pvt. Reppert attended schools at Hamburg, PA., and Providence R.I. He was employed at the Ward LaFrance when he entered service Nov. 16, 1943. He received basic training at Camp Croft and was sent overseas last June The newspaper article can be seen below. |
