The picture is a picture of Dewey John Poteete and Robert F. Poteete. It was taken in early 1944 on the family farm in Alparetta, GA. Mr. Kendrix sent me more pictures of Dewey which can be seen here and here. The envelope and telegram giving note of his death can be seen here and here. Mr. Kendrix also notes that Dewey was awared a Bronze Star. He also provided four letters: 1st Letter from England, July 1944. 2nd Letter from France. 3rd Letter from France. 4th Letter from France. 4th Letter from France (back). Private Poteete was a member of I Company. The morning report for July 17, 1944 on page 28 and 29 list him joining the unit from the 41st Replacement Battalion on July 16, 1944.
