Additional information
Private First Class Jones was a member of K Company. The morning report for August 8, 1944 on page 18 lists him as lightly wounded in action and transferred to the 102nd Evacuation Hospital. The morning report for October 15, 1944 on page 16 lists him returning to his unit on October 10, 1944 while holding the rank of Private. All relevant pages can be seen below. Since we have no later documents we assume that Private First Class Jones died while serving in K Company.
