| Erwin Derhaag pointed me to a newspaper. From this article partially qouted: Memorial services for S/Sgt. Josiah Alonzo Hogue, aged 33, of 1805 McGuffey Road , killed in action Aug. 23 in France, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the fa miliy residence. Rev. E.W. Bloomquist, pastor of the First Baptist Temple will b e in charge. Sergeant Hogue went into the armed forces Nov. 5, 1943, and oversea s June 15, 1944. He leaves his wife, the former Genevieve Mason, a daughter, Son dra Darlene, his parents, John S. and Maude Russel Hogue; three sisters, Grave a nd Sarah Jane Hogue of Youngstown and Mrs. Lora Wright, Quarkertown, Pa, and a b rother Pvt. Ercell Hogue, Aleutian Islands. He was a graduate of East High Schoo l and employed by the Republic Steel Corporation prior to his induction.
