Sergeant Shipley was a member of E Company. The morning report for July 13, 1944 on page 15 lists him joining the unit from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on July 11, 1944 as a Private. The morning report for August 1, 1944 on page 2 list his promotion to Private First Class. The pages can be seen below. Since we have no later documents we assume that Sergeant Shipley died while serving in E Company.
