The morning report of Company C for October 2, 1944 on page 2 lists him transferred to Company M on October 1, 1944 which can be seen on page 1 of the morning report for October 1, 1944. Page 20, for October 20, 1944 lists him transferred to HQ Company. The morning report of Company M for October 20, 1944 on page 20 lists him transferrred to HQ Company as a Private. Since we have no later documents we assume that Private First Class Saffel died while serving in HQ Company. All relevant pages can be seen below.
