| According to the roster of Frank Monan that can be found here a Pvt. Frederick H. Linke reinforced 3rd Squad, 1st Platoon, Company A, 331st at the 17th of July 1944. Further information and rank do not comply as the Linke from Frank Monan went MIA at July 26, 1944 and there is no serial to compare.
The morning report confirms this. Staff Sergeant Linke was a member of A Company. The morning report for July 18, 1944 on page 33 and 34 list him joining the unit from the 41st Replacement Battalion on July 17, 1944. Page 53 and 54, for July 25, 1944 lists him as missing in action on July 20, 1944. Page 59, for July 27, 1944 lists him returning to duty on July 24, 1944. The relevant pages can be seen below. |
