| Private Osborn was a member of K Company. The morning report for July 27, 1944 on page 87 lists him as lightly wounded in action on July 24, 1944 and transferred to the 622th Clearing Station. Page 90, for July 29, 1944 shows him returning to his unit. The morning report for August 6, 1944 on page 15 lists him severely wounded in action and transferred to the 104th Evacuation Hospital. All relevant pages can be seen below. Since we have no later documents we assume that Private Osborn died while serving in K Company. General Order 23 lists his commendation for a Purple Heart for wounds received in action on July 27, 1944. |
