For meritorious service in action against the enemy on 5 July 1944, near ***, France. During a night attack, First Lieutenant Dellow took the place of the lead scout in order to land the attack forward with maximum agressiveness. He was constantly exposed to direct enemy machine gun and small arms fire. His inspired leadership and his courageous devotion to duty enabled the advance of his company to go steadily forward despite terrific enemy fire and were a splendid example to his entire command. First Lieutenant Dellow's outstanding performance of duty merits the highest praise. |
